| SBIR/STTR Proposal Preparation – DoD focus |
BBCetc is presenting this 1/2 day seminar to discuss SBIR/STTR solicitations and where to find them. The US Department of Defense (DoD) released their first Fiscal year 2010 SBIR solicitation on November 12, 2009 with a proposal submission deadline of January 13, 2010. In this seminar we will review the current DoD solicitation as well as those from other agencies to illustrate the process of identifying funding opportunities. We will also describe in detail the elements of a good proposal.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

WHY ATTEND?
- To receive detailed instruction on preparing each component of a proposal
- To get current information on the SBIR/STTR program and the agency’s proposal submission processes
- To ensure that you have all of the tools and information necessary to prepare a competitive proposal
TOPICS COVERED:
- Strategic Planning – First, Do Your Homework
- SBIR/STTR program details
- Technological innovation and commercial merit – what this really means
- Strategies for targeting your proposal to meet Agency’s mission and requirements
- How to do your intelligence work prior to writing the proposal
- Proposal Development -- Crafting a Fundable Proposal – Details on the proposal preparation process. (This is not just a basic research grant!)

| SBIR/STTR NIH Changes for Proposal Preparation |
BBC is encouraging those who have significant experience with NIH SBIR/STTR proposals, to attend this half-day session that will cover changes to the research plan, supporting documents and forms. Please note: this session will focus on changes only. (If you are new to NIH and/or SBIR, have only limited experience with NIH proposals, or haven’t attended training recently, this session is not for you.)
In order to receive one-on-one assistance you are required to attend at least one proposal preparation training course. If you have already attended a previous course and plan to apply this year, you are not required to attend again. However, BBC’s data strongly supports the fact that clients’ outcomes improve significantly if they attend training prior to each proposal that they plan to submit.
